Kathanauki School of Dance

Founded in 2003 by acclaimed dancer Rossana Bandyopadhyay, Kathanauki School of Dance specializes in Kathak’s Lucknow Gharana (style). Rossana’s vision was to expand the reach of North Indian cultural heritage and traditional dance forms within the local South Asian Indian community and the wider population. The school has successfully achieved this goal by teaching young dancers and creating a platform for cultural exchange and accessibility to the glorious classical dance of India for all residents in the tri-state area.

Kathanauki School of Dance offers a comprehensive curriculum to cater to dancers of all skill levels.

Beginner : Introductory classes for those new to dance, focusing on basic techniques and foundational movements.

Intermediate: Classes for dancers with some experience, emphasizing the development of technical skills and choreography.

Advanced: Intensive training for experienced dancers, honing advanced techniques and preparing for performances.

My guruji, Smt. Rossana Bandyopadhyay has contributed significantly to promote Kathak in the Greater Cincinnati area and the rest of US. I feel blessed to have found a guru like her. My daughter and I have been her students since 2009 and we have personally experienced the patience, poise and passion with which Rossana teaches this art form. A dancer, choreographer and teacher par excellence, she has successfully presented mesmerizing dance productions since 2010, creating a warm community of Kathanauki families, friends and dance connoisseurs. I hope to be able to nurture my passion for Kathak forever, under the able guidance of our guruji 🙏🏼
